In Mark 5 Jesus comes in contact with a demon possessed man. The community is afraid of him, he lives in the grave yard and runs around naked. We all have read the story, Jesus cast out the demons, they (the demons) are now in a herd of pigs, the pigs jump over a cleft and die. The owners of the pigs get mad and ask Jesus to leave their community.
But then something happens!
Mark 5:18 says: "When Jesus got back into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go, too."
But Jesus says No, in verse 19. What "No," this man's life had just been changed and all he was asking was to go where ever Jesus went. He wanted to go with the Master. Why did Jesus tell him he could not go.
As we continue to read in verse 19 we see why, "go home to your friends, and tell them what wonderful things the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been."
You see Jesus needed this man to be a wittiness right where he lived. His family and friends needed to hear about the mercy of the Lord. My brother and sisters, Jesus has you right where He wants you to be. He wants you to tell others about Him. Tell your family, neighbors, co-workers about how much God loves them. Tell them with your words and actions.
